Fletcher Peninsula

Fletcher Peninsula is a broad ice-covered cove which extends into the Bellingshausen Sea between the Abbot and the Venable Ice Shelf. Mapped by United States Geological Survey (USGS) from surveys and U.S. Navy air photos, 1961-66. Named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) for Fred C. Fletcher of Boston, a contributor to the United States Antarctic Service (USAS), 1939-41.
